50 and Windy

High's were in the 50's today and very windy so I skipped the outdoor run for a little X Training on the treadmill at the gym. The last day off I had was Thurs. so not running today was probably a good thing. Did 35 min on the elliptical at a pretty intense pace. Did some stretch and strengthening exercises after. Good workout today. Plan for tomorrow is 10 m w/ 5m at tempo pace. May take it easy depending on how I feel. Knee was mostly pain free today.

Nice Day

Sun. Jan 27, 2008 - ran 10 on the dreadmill yesterday after phys therapy. painful blisters and slight knee pain forced me to stop earlier than anticipated. Was planning on doing 12 if not a few more.

Was planning on doing 6 this am even though sched. calls for rest. Weather was clear and slightly warm (25 and sunny). Great day to run outside, especially considering the below zero temps we've been having in Chi the past few weeks. Today was a day that reminds me why I'm doing all this...Ended up doing 8 in 57:13. Slightly over a 7:00 min pace, consider this my tempo run. Total miles for the week are now at 44. Very pleased with this.

Knees felt pretty good. still noticed some slight discomfort in my right knee, but can tell the stretching and strengthening is going to help. Pain in my right arch seems to have disappeared in the past few days.

Plan for the upcoming week is follow Pfitz plan as close as I can. Wed and Thurs are going to have to be early morning runs as work commitments will get in the way of after work runs.

Day One Part II

Jan 24, 2008 - day off today, did quads and hamstring stretches with leg lifts and all other leg/hip stretches. Starting to get a bit more flexible little by little. No running today as I did 8 on Mon. 5 on Tues. and 8 on Wed. Still having knee problems combined with a foot pain in my right arch (feels like a bruise).
Had phys therapy eval on Tues. Start with first session on Sat @ 8 am. Definitely going to need to do a ton of work on flexibility and some leg strengthening. Plan for the rest of the week is 5 on Fri. 12-15 on Sat and maybe an easy 4 on Sun. Should bring me to 42-45 total for week, very solid consideringn last week was mid 30's. Need to get up closer to 50's on a weekly basis.
